From the overblown mass media shitstorm encompassing Saint Laurent&rsquos Spring/ Summer time 2013 assortment will come this accompanying, and comparatively subdued, marketing campaign. Hedi Slimane has chosen bank - producing Aussie mega-babe Julia Nobis, who opened his warmly- been given initially collection for the recently -rebranded tag, as the face of &lsquoPart 1 &rsquo of the campaign, with the future &lsquoPart 2 &rsquo fronted by Edie Campbell.
The campaign, like the selection, has been receiving mixed critiques. Over in the boards Slimane&rsquos refusal to shoot in everything other than black and white has been the primary criticism, though his selection of design hasn&rsquot been copping really so substantially flack.
Julia&rsquos bedraggled blonde hair and unperturbed demeanor are ideal for the via -LA path Slimane is shifting the label in. She also moves very easily involving the assortment &rsquos two personalities, sequin-clad seductress and moody androgyne, with a very little wild, wild west thrown in for fantastic calculate. The ruffles and outsized pussybows are virtually as OTT as the much -circulated wide open letter Slimane resolved to Cathy Horyn on Twitter, but arrive throughout better in the marketing campaign than they did on the catwalk.
See a lot more of the marketing campaign pictures on Saint Laurent's Facebook site and let us now what you think : Is Slimane's spartan strategy uplifting or just basic boring ?
