Very long coats in a myriad of materials and variations have been turning up on the runways, but in Paris, they took a dressier convert in the kind of very long but light-weight satin opera coats. At Miu Miu currently, they had been worn with crop tops and midi- size skirts, even though Céline's very long, silk, trenchlike coat, worn with sandals and slip attire, had a decidedly haphazard, nineties demeanor. And at Rochas, a spectacular chrysanthemum-print opera coat was paired with a matching substantial -waisted silk bikini and white wrestling boots.
