When you get two things that have been completed to passing away and combine them into just one editorial, it has all the makings of a catastrophe, but thankfully Du Jour manages to stay away from this trap entirely. Taking lender - producing androgyne Andrej Pejic and subjecting him to but another gender metamorphosis, this time as none other than fashion editorial favourite Andy Warhol, they&rsquove turned the fatigued into something actually great.
Pejic not only tends to make an exceptionally convincing Andy, but also proves his gender morphing chops as Warholian superstars Edie and Nico. He has the previous &rsquos childish gaze pretty much perfected, and his smouldering acquire on Blue Metal is uncannily comparable to the stony stage face of the late Velvet Underground singer. He even goes for the final male- woman mash-up as transsexual superstar Candy Darling, showing off significant purple eyelids and thinly-pencilled brows for his transformation to a person dressed as a guy dressed as a lady. Adequately perplexed but ? We suppose that&rsquos aspect of the stage.
The editorial was shot by Tony Kim and inspired by the recent NARS x Andy Warhol make-up collection. If you haven&rsquot ordered nearly anything from that assortment to date, now is possibly the time.
