Sally Field had to fight to get her role in Steven Spielberg's new film, Lincoln -- and then she had to pack on the pounds to retain it!
To portray Mary Todd Lincoln, the wife of Abraham Lincoln (Daniel Day-Lewis), in the historical drama, the 66- year - old actress required to achieve 25 pounds.
"It was tricky, it was extremely tricky," Area advised Jay Leno Thursday on The Tonight Demonstrate With Jay Leno. "It was not as significantly fun as you would believe." She joked, " Initially of all, it was horrifying because I'm of a certain age and I kept considering, 'If I do not do it ideal I will drop dead halfway by this and somebody else will get the purpose !"
So Field attempted to obtain the weight strategically.
"I tried to do it healthy, which I recognize there is not any way to do it healthier," she mentioned. "I ate brown rice and these protein drinks created out of things known as pro- Achieve... Oh God, it was just disgusting. I never had a enjoyable meal, basically. It just was discipline."
