With his new movie "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" set to hit theaters on August 15th, Joel Edgerton added to his promotional efforts via a feature in the September 2012 issue of Vogue Australia.
The 38-year-old actor - who hails from the Land Down Under - donned a range of items from Balenciaga, Jil Sander and Belstaff while joined by the lovely Crystal Renn for the magazine's dark Will Davidson shot spread.
Meanwhile, a few of the highlights from Mr Edgerton's accompanying interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Vogue Australia!
On landing the role of Tom Buchanan in 'The Great Gatsby':
"Maybe his dark side makes me more right to play him than I thought... I knew that other side was the way into that character."
On 'The Odd Life of Timothy Green' co-star Jennifer Garner:
"Watching Jennifer be a great actress as well as an incredible mother really showed me something and rubbed off."
On moving to Los Angeles:
"I was lucky. I had the Heath Ledger scholarship so I had a bit of support. But there is the work here and I wanted to make a career out of this. I was working at a law firm, doing a few episodes of Neighbours here and there, and I'd done two features in Australia in the course of two or three years. I thought if I want to make this my career and I don't want to keep working part-time jobs for the rest of my life, I'll have to take this leap."
Baz Luhrmann on Joel:
"I knew Joel personally before, but the Joel Edgerton that came in and claimed the role of Tom Buchanan is a young actor on a big journey indeed. He bring s real buoyancy to the set. His spirit and enery are infectious, and he is one of those actors with a director's head: he is never short of an idea and knows how to collaborate and communicate."
