Born in Ohio in 1917, comedienne Phyllis Diller died in her sleep this morning at age 95. A pioneer for funny women in show business, she had a self-deprecating sense of humor and a fabulous laugh. Her best-known act was a raucous impersonation of a hapless, scatterbrained housewife who made jokes about her looks, age, and bad cooking. Onstage, Diller was crazy-haired and wore funny outfits; offstage, she never stopped poking fun at herself. Enjoy looking back at her life in our slideshow.
