Jamie Foxx is "Electro" in "Spider-Man" Sequel

After rumors have been recently swirling, Jamie Foxx has been confirmed to be appearing in the sequel to "The Amazing Spider-Man."

Speaking to ET about his role, the "Ray" star discloses, "Electro is a great character. I met with the director, Mark Webb, I met with Andrew Garfield, and we talked. … I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he's a … genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on."

The 44 -year-old actor pretty much let the cat out of the bag earlier when he posted a photo of himself dressed in the character's costume the day after Halloween.

Also announced today, "Lincoln" star Dane Dehaan has signed on to portray Harry Osborn, who eventually becomes the super-villain Hobgoblin. The new superhero flick is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.
