Bulgari honoured with Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award

December 5 was marked Bulgari day in Beverley Hills, by Mayor William Brien, as the city welcomed the Italian jewellery brand onto Rodeo Drive's Walk of Style.

Joining a coterie of past pavement-bound honorees, including Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, Diana Vreeland and Manolo Blahnik, the 1884-born company will receive a permanent plaque, featuring Bulgari's personal quotes and signatures, which will then be embedded on Rodeo Drive's sidewalk.

A stylish crowd of actresses Drew Barrymore, Lydia Hearst, Bella Heathcote and Russian model Anne V, joined the celebration of the brand's contributions to fashion and entertainment. San Jose-born actress, Kate Walsh, was moved to recount Bulgari's Hollywood history that started in 1946 with the film Il Bandito and continued to grow through films from Cleopatra and Casino to 2006's The Devil Wears Prada.

Nicola Bulgari, vice president of the company and grandson of its founder, noted his "weakness for LA" and his great pleasure at being "mapped in this part of the world."

Earlier this year saw the Italian label bolster their charitable record, with a 'Rewrite the Future' campaign for Save The Children; whereby photographer Fabrizio Ferri snapped the likes of Jessica Biel, Sting and Ben Stiller wearing Bulgari rings. To date, the brand has raised more than $20 million for education programmes worldwide, mainly through sales of similar specially commissioned rings.
