The face of Dolce & Gabbana, David Gandy, has been papped, heckled and questioned to his model heart's content at London Collections: Men this week. But, far from basking in his now bi-annual position as a front row stallion, the 32-year-old has announced his role as fashion ambassador for Red Nose Day 2013, placing him as the really, really ridiculously good-looking figurehead responsible for uniting the worlds of fashion and Comic Relief.
All the latest from London Collections: Men autumn/winter 2013
With a team of fashion big wigs - notably the British Fashion Council's Caroline Rush, model Poppy Delevingne and photographer Rankin supporting his aptly named 'Blue Steel Appeal', Brits can expect a host of fashion events and fundraisers hitting the UK across 2013.
To celebrate his newly appointed Red Nose crown, Gandy will host a private screening of 'Zoolander' at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden today. The first official 'Blue Steel' event will then be a fashion auction on eBay on March 7, whereby fashionistas can bid on a selection of money-can't-buy items and experiences, donated by brands and individuals. Whether or not Gandy will appear in another sitcom spoof - last year saw him work briefly on Sport Relief's Ab Fab sketch with Kate Moss and Stella McCartney - is, so far, under wraps.

Moved by his first hand experiences of the challenges people face in the UK, Gandy enthused: "I hope that the fashion industry will come together, have some fun, show off their best Blue Steel looks and raise money at the same time… it would be great to show the public the lighter side of what we do."
Tune into Red Nose Day 2013 to see which stars have been putting in some quality mirror time to practice their Blue Steel pouts.
